Wythenshawe Vets Over 35s are located in southern the city and play in the Cheshire-based Veterans Division Top Tier.

"That movement is what I'm after. It's good fun."

Along with Cisse's six scores on his first game, Stephen Ireland has scored eight in three appearances for Wythenshawe, while Boyd scored 5 on his first match and Joleon Lescott, a centre-half by position, notched a hat-trick in one game as a striker.

Wythenshawe are top of the Top Division with three wins from three and a GD of +19.

One opponent, 38, who plays on the flank for Collegiate OB, faced ex- Latics full-back Maynor Figueroa on Sunday - and had to tell his nine-year-old boy who Heskey was.

Figueroa has appeared at two global tournaments for his country, in as well as featuring in more than 200 top-flight matches.

"It was going round like wildfire they had all these former top-flight players," remarked Barrow.

"I think I was a little starstruck facing Figueroa to be honest.

"Even Emile [Heskey] got on and he's has over 60 England caps.

"Our group literally have not stopped talking about it - I was phoning my mum and brother on the way home.

"The opponents were all really nice, shaking our hands after the game - it was like playing a group of regular guys.

"Now we are eager for the second match."
