From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of characters, and a exciting storyline showcasing celestial beings, evil spirits, and sinister influences increasing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of heroes who will split off from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might look out of place, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, desires retribution.
- The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous place.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their status as important members in House Halovar could assist the group reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.
